A region synonymous with the car industry, the news that expansion work is underway at Toyota’s Derbyshire site is certainly welcomed. Engineering firm, Acres Engineering of Melbourne, recently stepped in to assist a British bobsleigh duo to get one step closer to the 2021 Winter Olympics.  Acres is providing them with a custom tool-chest to help drive further sponsorship opportunities, and a portable push sled to assist with the team’s training. Acres Engineering was also in the news for its swift move to develop COVID-19 safety products.



Rolls-Royce has resumed testing on a revolutionary eco-friendly engine, as well as having just signed a deal to help create a supersonic aircraft. And finally, Woodville-based Greenbank Group is breaking into new markets, thanks to its recent acquisition of Burton-upon-Trent’s Franklyn Yates Engineering. This means that Greenbank Group now encompasses clean water and sewage treatment, energy from waste, clinical waste incineration, and biomass industries.
